Kathy Redden
Kathy Redden
Kathy started exploring the world of health and fitness as an effort to aid in the finance of her Accounting degree when attending the University of Texas in 1988. She began working in health facilities part-time and eventually started teaching group exercise. Throughout her college years, she became increasingly passionate about the experience of motivating and advising students to lead a more healthy and happy lifestyle.
The world of spreadsheets, tax returns and cubicles was soon left behind to pursue education and certifications in group exercise, personal training, post rehab and coaching, including Kathy's current certification from the National Academy of Sports Medicine. In addition to being a Master Fitness Specialist at Pure Austin, she teaches indoor cycling, outdoor running classes and adult and adolescent swim lessons. Kathy also coaches triathlon groups and leads marathon training clinics.
Kathy's first love is competitive beach volleyball; however, she spends most of her time training for triathlons and duathlons. She was a nationally ranked triathlete in 1997 (USAT), and has been training beginner to intermediate triathletes since 1996.
Kathy keeps expanding her training repertoire with additional education and training. Most recently she became a certified Trigger Point Therapy practitioner and she is currently pursuing her certification as a Performance Enhancement Specialist.
In her spare time, you can find Kathy on her bike, on the lake, on a mountain or in the sand.

Kathy is the real deal! Her PRs (personal record) include: 3:43:15 marathon, 42:20 10K, 19:21 5K and 1:04:25 Danskin Triathlon, and she was a Nationally ranked triathlete in 1996 (USA Triathlon).
