Matt
Matt has been participating recreationally or competing in some type of sport since his father threw him into the pool at 1 ½ years old with a pair of floaties strapped around his arms. Swimming unsurprisingly became Matt's first athletic passion and, with his "svelte" physique, he became a natural distance swimmer (translation: sprinting wasn't really an option). At 19, Matt found his way into cycling, which soon became his second athletic passion. Throw a little bit of running into the mix, and it's easy to see why he really enjoys teaching Pure Austin's cycling and swim/bike/run classes.
When he isn't teaching at Pure Austin, Matt is a busy marketing professional. Because the office never seems too far away, he knows what it's like to have to strike a balance between work and a fitness-oriented lifestyle. That's why every workout is designed to be efficient, challenging, and physically rewarding. Whether you're a devoted competitive athlete or a member who might need to skip the occasional workout when life gets in the way, Matt's high-energy classes can help you develop cardiovascular conditioning, muscular strength, and endurance.
In addition to cycling/swimming/running, Matt can often be spotted wakeboarding or just relaxing on Lake Austin. He's also a coffee addict, so don't be too surprised if you see him downing a cup of java before (or even during) a class.
