I’d been a triathlete for several years, but hadn’t taken an interest or devoted any time to strength training. My workouts consisted of running, biking, swimming and the “once in a blue moon” yoga class. That all changed when I started working with Kris. She showed me that strength training was not only challenging, but also full of the variety that I craved as a triathlete. She helped me map out a monthly schedule that outlined clear, realistic goals and transformed my routine into a balanced mix of strength training and cardio. She incorporated some of the great classes that Pure has to offer (Pure Pump is my favorite!) along with a healthy dose of biking, running and swimming to supplement and build on my workouts with her, and to maintain triathlon fitness.
Before I started working with Kris, I wasn’t a huge fan of going to the gym. In addition, I didn’t exactly have a choice because at the age of 36 I was informed that I was borderline osteoporosis and I HAD to go. Kris has been nothing but amazing to work with and I actually look forward to meeting her every time I go. Honestly, she’s been the greatest resource I’ve found in Austin since moving here five years ago. She knows exactly when to push and is very balanced in how she approaches your individual training program. I wasn’t overweight when I started working with her but I definitely had arms that kept waving after I had stopped waving and a butt that had its own footstep behind me when I was running. In addition to overall strengthening, she focused on these areas with great results!! She’s also a great encourager on the nutrition side and overall life balance. I can’t recommend her enough!!!
Kris lives and breathes a lifestyle of fitness and health and she has been a huge inspiration and motivator for me. She listens and takes a personal interest in my goals and how to make them fit into the busy schedule of a full-time working mom. What I value most from my time with Kris is how she has helped me enjoy and appreciate strength training as a vital part of my workout routine. Feeling strong feels good!
