As an advocate for “we’re in this sport to have fun, right?”, I encourage my triathletes and swimmers to not sweat the small stuff, but instead keep the bigger picture in mind with their training and racing.
My passion for triathlon goes back to my first event almost 20 years ago, when I hoped to “just get through the run”. Now, I get as much satisfaction bringing newbies into the sport and helping others achieve their goals, whether it be a sprint triathlon, a 5K, a marathon, or an Ironman. I have been coaching triathlon in both the group and individual setting for over 10 years, and am USAT certified, as well as an ACE-certified personal trainer. I’ve taught swimming – pool and open water – to hundreds of athletes, both kids and adults, coached an area club team in college, and have a particular fondness for seeing non-swimmers learn to love the water. Since 1998 I have completed almost 50 marathons, 13 Ironmans, and many other-distance events. I welcome beginners, as well as seasoned triathletes.

Peri is incredibly knowledgeable about tri races, being a triathlete herself and gave me tons of advice on everything in open water, from starting, exiting and strategy while in the water (where to position, how to turn, how to sight the course while swimming). Pure Austin has a great course for training and a fantastic coach!
